Public Health Research and Intelligence Specialist
We are seeking a Public Health Research and Intelligence Specialist to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our community by providing high-quality evidence, research, and intelligence to support public health initiatives. You will undertake health needs assessments, literature reviews, and health economic assessments using specialist public health methodologies. You will contribute to the annual report of the Director of Public Health, write reports to journal standard, and undertake service reviews and evaluations to inform commissioning and local health strategies. We are keen to embrace innovation and new ideas to ensure our work uses the best methods to produce robust and engaging research and intelligence.
Responsibilities
* Undertake health needs assessments, literature reviews, and health economic assessments using specialist public health methodologies.
* Contribute to the annual report of the Director of Public Health and write reports to journal standard.
* Undertake service reviews and evaluations to inform commissioning and local health strategies.
* Support the development and dissemination of public health intelligence to internal and external stakeholders.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the council and with external partners; apply robust research methods and promote innovation.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in health or social sciences or a relevant subject.
* Knowledge and experience of undertaking health needs assessments and related research methods.
* Effective oral communication skills with the ability to influence others.
* Strong time management and project management skills.
* Ability to collaborate constructively with colleagues, both internal and external to the council.
