We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to support a specialist further education setting on an ongoing temporary basis. This rewarding role involves working with small class groups of young adults aged 18–24, all of whom have been diagnosed with Down syndrome or Autism.The setting offers a supportive and inclusive environment focused on developing independence,munication, and life skills. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide tailored support that meets the individual needs of each learner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide classroom-based support to learners withplex needs
2. Assist in the delivery of structured educational and life skills programmes
3. Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
4. Support students with personal care and mobility where required
5. Collaborate with the wider team to ensure consistent and high-quality support
Requirements:
6. Experience working with SEN learners, particularly those with Autism or Down syndrome
7. A calm, patient and supportive approach
8. Relevant qualifications ( Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable
9. Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
