Senior Environmental Engineer (Water/Remediation) – Bristol, UK-based (remote with national and occasional international travel)
We’re a specialist UK remediation and water treatment contracting & consultancy company, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Remediation Engineer to join our team.
This is a hands-on, senior engineering role where you’ll design, fabricate, install, and maintain bespoke water treatment and remediation systems. You’ll play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting projects across the UK, with occasional travel to Ireland and Europe.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Fabrication & Assembly – build and prepare bespoke mobile water treatment and remediation plants
* Installation & Commissioning – lead setup and mobilisation on sites across the UK (and occasionally abroad)
* Operation & Maintenance – service systems, including chemical dosing/CO2 injection for pH correction
* Troubleshooting & Repairs – diagnose and fix pumps, pipework, PLCs, and electrical/mechanical faults
* Instrumentation – calibrate pH sensors, TSS sensors, and monitoring equipment
* Project Support – assist project managers with design, costing, and delivery
* Travel – regular UK site visits and occasional overseas work (plus time in our Bristol yard for fabrication)
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in mechanical/process engineering (remediation or water treatment sector)
* Strong fabrication and welding skills (electrofusion desirable)
* Knowledge of water treatment systems (lamella clarifiers, filtration vessels, pH correction, pumps)
* Hands-on expertise with hydraulic/pneumatic pumps, PLC troubleshooting, and basic electrics
* Ability to read engineering drawings & process flow diagrams
* Full clean UK driving licence + right to work in the UK
* (Preferred: qualified electrician or equivalent electrical experience)
