Communications Manager
Job Function Summary
The global Branding & Communications team is responsible for crafting and deploying branding and communications strategies for WorldQuant and Millennium. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and results-oriented member of our team to support communications activities across the WorldQuant portfolio. You will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of global activities, including executive communications, media relations, events, and developing WorldQuant messaging and communications strategy. This is a unique opportunity for a talented, organized communications professional to work alongside an innovative team in a one of a kind role in a growing market. This role will preferably based in New York with consideration given to London, reporting into the Head of WorldQuant Communications. This role will involve some domestic and international travel throughout the year.
Principal Responsibilities
* Manage the development and execution of ongoing communications strategies that support business priorities and enhance thought leadership for key leadership
* Lead and oversee communications initiatives and activities from formation through execution and evaluation
* Drive the execution of branding and communications programs, utilizing both internal and external resources, including directly working with a range of agency partners
* Manage and engage directly with media, including developing and pitching proactive stories and monitoring coverage of the firm and peers
* Draft and prepare materials to support communications, including messaging, talking points, Q&A, presentations, and other related materials
* Lead ongoing research function related to inquiries around media engagements, potential partnerships, conferences and content collaboration
* Coordinate the planning and execution of internal and industry events, conferences and partnerships including event strategy and activation, programming, executive preparations and logistics
* Help manage partnerships with key external stakeholder groups like the Milken Institute, World Economic Forum and others.
* Partner with key internal stakeholders and interface with the WorldQuant leadership team as projects require
* Support the daily operations of the WorldQuant and Millennium Communications Team, including project management, team organization and leadership updates
Qualifications/Skills Required
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a strong academic record
* 5+ years of communications experience at a communications agency or in-house, preferably for a leading consumer-facing technology of financial-services firm
* Highly proficient in drafting communications materials
* Experience with CEO-driven communications
* Strong research, comprehension, verbal and written communication skills
* Proven ability to contribute in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and handle time efficiently
* Excellent attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy, quality and integrity
* Ability to get up to speed quickly, shift gears and balance multiple projects concurrently
* Willingness to embrace new challenges
* Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills
Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $160,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
