A high-achieving and inclusive primary school in Barnet is seeking an exceptionally experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 child with significant behavioural needs. This is a full-time, long-term position for someone ready to take on a challenging yet highly rewarding role.
The Role
You will work closely with one pupil in year 3 who presents extremely challenging behaviour, including swearing, hitting, and biting. The child requires a resilient, calm, and highly skilled professional who can remain composed in high-stress situations and implement effective de-escalation techniques.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the pupil throughout the school day in class and during transitions
* Managing incidents involving verbal and physical aggression in a safe and professional manner
* Working in close partnership with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
* Implementing consistent behaviour strategies and personalised learning support
* Encouraging emotional regulation, social skills, and academic engagement
This role requires someone with a proven background in supporting pupils with high-level behavioural needs, ideally in a primary school or specialist setting.

Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
* Experience with children who exhibit physical aggression or emotional dysregulation
* Confidence in managing high-intensity situations using positive behaviour support strategies
* Immediate availability and commitment to a full-time
