Join us as a Mobile Air Conditioning Improver Engineer at Equans UK & Ireland, based in Blackburn. This permanent, full‑time role (40 hrs/week) offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Overview
We are seeking a recently qualified Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer (Improver) to join our expanding building services team. The ideal candidate has completed City & Guilds Level 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and the F‑Gas Category 1 qualification, and is eager to gain hands‑on experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist senior engineers with the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including split, multi‑split, and VRV/VRF units.
* Carry out routine preventative maintenance and performance checks.
* Support fault‑finding, leak testing, pressure testing, refrigerant evacuation, and charging.
* Accurately complete service sheets, job reports, and asset documentation using digital tools or paperwork.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental policies.
* Communicate effectively with customers, site personnel, and office staff.
* Attend additional training and manufacturer courses as required to further develop technical knowledge.
Qualifications & Experience
* Essential: City & Guilds Level 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (7189 or equivalent).
* Essential: F‑Gas Category 1 (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent).
* Essential: Good understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning principles and system components.
* Essential: Full UK driving licence.
* Essential: Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Desirable: Some experience assisting with air conditioning installation or maintenance.
* Desirable: Basic electrical knowledge or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
