Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Waste Management Services, including domestic and commercial collections, disposal contracts, and the Household Waste and Recycling Centre.
2. Direct Clean & Green Services, covering burials, street cleansing, arboriculture, parks, open spaces, and grounds maintenance.
3. Ensure statutory compliance as a Waste Disposal Authority, including health, safety, and environmental regulations.
4. Manage budgets, income streams, and commercial opportunities to deliver value for money.
5. Oversee procurement and performance of external contractors, addressing non-compliance and service issues.
6. Develop policies, strategies, and procedures aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
7. Foster partnerships with public, private, and third-sector organisations to enhance service delivery.
8. Manage complaints, Member enquiries, and public consultations effectively.
