Engineering is at the very core of what we do. Be it civil, mechanical, electrical, or process, our MEP engineers are based predominantly on site and play a practical, hands-on role in the successful delivery of projects. As a site-based MEP Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the mechanical, electrical, and process (MEP) functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From supporting ideas in the early design phase of a scheme to overseeing and delivering on-site commissioning, you will ensure that all MEP aspects are planned out, tested, commissioned, and completed successfully.
In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to create the commissioning strategy from the ground up, ensuring that the project’s process outputs are produced safely and in accordance with the design, client requirements, regulatory standards, and environmental restrictions.
The role of a MEP engineer includes:
* Hybrid work style offering both hands-on practical work commissioning different instrumentation, drives, and processes back to relevant control panels alongside office-based collaborative meetings, programme reviews, cost reviews, and commissioning strategizing.
* Help to integrate the design, construction, and commissioning of plant and equipment within the Water sector by bringing mechanical, electrical, and/or process skills to practical benefit.
* Plan and programme the MEP aspects of the projects we deliver; working with design, operational teams, and subcontractors to support the design, planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of projects.
* During the construction phase, duties will include overseeing subcontractors, ensuring installations meet standards, conducting testing, reviewing assessments, and overseeing electrical safety. Additionally, you will create commissioning plans, testing records, acceptance documents, and training materials.
* Contribute towards successful completion and handover of MEP schemes to the client by way of collaborative meetings, completion documentation, and plant reliability reviews.
What you’ll need:
* ONC / HNC in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (Suitable equivalent experience will also be considered).
* Mechanical, Electrical, or Process experience within the water industry is desirable.
* Understand MEP engineering principles and practices across the lifecycle of civil engineering projects.
* Excellent organization and problem-solving skills, including fault finding on control systems, instrumentation, and plant.
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
* Ability to work well alongside project teams including other MEP Engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
* A valid driving license and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
* ECS and SSSTS (Training can be offered to suitable candidates).
