Operations Manager – Ipswich & Higham
Permanent | Full‑Time | Mon–Fri (flexibility required)
Role Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our busy plant at Ipswich & Higham. You’ll oversee a complex operation where safety, people leadership and efficiency are key.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and develop a motivated operational team
* Ensure safe, compliant and efficient running of plant, railhead and recycling operations
* Manage budgets, stock control and operational KPIs
* Oversee planned maintenance and statutory inspections
* Maintain SOPs, risk assessments and safety systems
* Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks and support continuous improvement
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience managing Asphalt, Aggregates or Ready Mix operations
* Strong knowledge of H&S, environmental compliance and production processes
* Confident with SAP and Microsoft Office
* Ability to manage change, multitask and lead from the front
* IOSH Managing Safely (essential)
* Institute of Asphalt Technology membership (desirable)
