Location: Inverness & surrounding operational sites (field based)
Hours: Full time, permanent
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per year, depending on experience
We are recruiting a Harvesting Contract Supervisor for a leading organisation within the forestry and timber sector. This permanent, field based role is responsible for supervising harvesting operations, managing contractors and ensuring Health & Safety, environmental and operational standards are met at all times.
This is a hands on, physically demanding role and applicants must have proven timber harvesting experience or a recognised qualification, as well as a full UK driving licence.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise harvesting contractors to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations
Negotiate with contractors on operational performance, schedules and delivery requirements
Promote and enforce the highest Health & Safety and environmental standards on site
Manage harvesting volumes, logistics and timber quality in line with site requirements
Monitor contract performance and provide accurate, timely reporting
Drive operational efficiencies through improved processes, systems and technology
Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors and suppliers
Support site based projects focused on process improvements and operational optimisation
What were looking for:
Proven experience in forestry or timber harvesting (or a recognised qualification in the sector)
Full UK driving licence regular travel to rural and off road sites required
Strong understanding of Health & Safety and environmental standards in harvesting operations
Ability to negotiate with contractors to achieve operational targets and compliance
Physically fit and able to work in demanding outdoor conditions
Ability to work independently in a field based role while integrating into a wider team
Strong organisational, time management and reporting skills
Confident written and verbal communicator
Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT for reporting purposes
