Position
This is a part‑time Health Promotion Outreach Worker position within the Surrey Sexual Health Outreach (SCHO) Team. The role extends sexual health services into wider communities and is based in Woking, providing outreach across Surrey. It is a development post that will move the holder from Band 4 to Band 5 Sexual Health Promotion Outreach Worker through a practical, on‑the‑job training programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the Surrey Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screening programme and Condom Distribution Service for under‑25s.
* Promote condom use and personal sexual health strategies.
* Offer advice and information about sexual health and signpost to clinical services.
* Provide asymptomatic STI screening kits to target groups.
* Support clients in safer sexual practices and assess their sexual health needs, referring them to appropriate clinics and services.
* Increase the number of vulnerable and young people tested and support vulnerable clients in accessing mainstream services.
* Provide training sessions to groups of staff or other professionals working with targeted client groups in various settings.
* Participate in the planning, preparation and delivery of training and outreach sessions.
* Travel across the County of Surrey as part of the work.
Qualifications
* Experience in Health Promotion and/or Sexual Health Services.
* Knowledge of the health promotion model targeting Surrey communities most at risk of sexual ill‑health, including young people under 25, Black and minority ethnic communities, sex workers, men who have sex with men (including ChemSex), people with disabilities and transgender communities.
* Capacity to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for specific events.
