This role supports NHS Lanarkshire premises by providing domestic services to patients, staff and visitors, with a focus on delivering a safe, welcoming environment that meets NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections standards. You will work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.
This position is based at University Hospital Monklands (Domestic Services). The working pattern and contact details are listed below.
Responsibilities
* Provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors in a safe and welcoming environment.
* Deliver effective and efficient cleaning to meet NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections standards.
* Work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.
What we’ll need you to bring
* Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
* On the job training and induction (typically 4-6 weeks) to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety, including risk assessment of individual tasks.
* PaMOVA training level 1 and level 2 if identified following a risk assessment.
* Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training.
* Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers standards.
* Undertake and complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
It would be great if you also have:
* Recognised SVQ or equivalent relevant qualification.
* Experience in a domestic services/cleaning environment.
* Knowledge of systems and processes (e.g., HAI, Manual Handling, Management of Aggression, Infection Control, COSHH, Fire Safety).
* Experience with a range of electrical cleaning equipment.
* Flexible and willing to learn; ability to work under pressure.

Please note this is a part-time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Domestic Services within University Hospital Monklands.
The working pattern for this role is:
* Saturday 07:30-15:00
* Sunday 07:30-14:49
