Join us as a Volunteer Mentor within our Communities and Education Division.
Our Resettlement Support Volunteers play a key role by supporting staff to deliver positive impact through projects that address a range of needs of the participants we work with (predominantly men over the age of 18 years). Volunteers help minimise reoffending risks and support participants in creating healthier relationships by assisting access to vital services and community engagement, equipping them with skills for success and positive lifestyle changes.
Volunteers act as positive role models who inspire, empower, and guide participants to achieve their action plans. They provide personalized support to improve lives and prevent cycles of criminality. This role offers extensive training, paid expenses, and support from a Volunteer Coordinator.
No prior experience is necessary; we encourage volunteers from all backgrounds. Essential qualities include excellent communication skills and empathy to build effective relationships, serve as positive role models, and inspire participants to reach their potential.
We provide a comprehensive training program, including online and classroom sessions on topics such as:
* Safeguarding vulnerable adults
