Elevation Recruitment Group are currently supporting a global industry leader in their search for an experienced Production Manager to manage their facility in Huddersfield. This is a pivotal role within the business, responsible for ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards, while delivering against output, cost and performance targets.
You will lead and develop Shift Management and Production Teams, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and safety across all operations. This role suits a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-line environment and enjoys balancing people leadership with operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Manager include:
* Lead all manufacturing activities across site, ensuring products are produced on time in full
* Create and deliver daily, weekly, monthly and annual production schedules
* Drive efficiency improvements, reduce waste and increase productivity
* Monitor and report on KPIs including output, machine efficiency, yields and labour costs
* Communicate operational challenges and risks clearly to senior management
* Lead, coach and develop the Shift Management team to maximise performance
* Drive multi-skilling and maintain an up-to-date training matrix
* Promote a positive, accountable culture that encourages learning and continuous improvement
* Always maintain sites in an ‘audit-ready’ state
* Lead daily and weekly audits and support ISO audits
* Investigate quality issues and implement preventative improvements
* Take full accountability for Health & Safety across production areas
* Promote a clean, safe and organised working environment
* Champion behavioural safety and continuous improvement in safety standards
We are looking for Production Managers with the below skills and experience:
* A confident and commercially aware manufacturing leader with a proven track record in factory or operations management
* Significant experience managing production in a high-volume manufacturing environment
* Strong leadership and people management capability
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Experience driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Confident communication skills at all levels
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production planning tools
