Job Title: Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Teacher
Location: Nottingham
Pay Rate: £130 – £251+ per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

Are you a resilient and compassionate Teacher with the skills to engage and inspire pupils in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting?

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated PRU Teacher to work across multiple subjects within Nottingham. This role provides the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people who may face barriers to learning, helping them re-engage with education and reach their full potential.

Role Overview:

As a PRU Teacher delivering multi-subject lessons, you will work with students who require alternative educational provision due to behavioural, social, or emotional challenges.

As a PRU Teacher, you will:

* Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects suited to pupils’ individual learning needs.
* Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs and behavioural challenges.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where every student feels supported.
* Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and a growth mindset.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, behaviour mentors, and pastoral staff to ensure holistic support for learners.
* Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting approaches to maximise outcomes.

Requirements for PRU Teacher:

* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
* Experience teaching in PRUs, alternative provisions, or with SEMH learners is highly desirable.
* Ability to teach across multiple subjects confidently.
* Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full CV covering the last 10 years of employment, with any gaps explained.
