Our client, a leading engineering and maintenance provider, is seeking a Procurement Site Buyer to join their team supporting operations at Hinkley Point C. Operating across various industries including chemical, petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, and more, our client excels in enhancing asset efficiency, ensuring high availability, and reducing maintenance costs.
The Procurement Site Buyer will be integral to the on-site procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing aligned with project requirements and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Source, procure, and expedite materials, tools, consumables, and services required for site operations
* Review requisitions for accuracy, ensuring correct specifications, quantities, and delivery dates
* Obtain competitive quotations and evaluate supplier offers based on cost, quality, lead time, and compliance
* Raise purchase orders in line with company procurement processes and contractual frameworks
* Build strong working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal site teams
* Liaise with logistics, warehousing, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery and stock availability
* Monitor supplier performance and elevate delivery or quality issues
* Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies, site procedures, and nuclear-regulated purchasing controls
* Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and audit trails
* Support material traceability and documentation requirements associated with high‑integrity systems
* Assist with invoice reconciliation and resolving procurement‑related discrepancies
* Support cost control by securing competitive pricing and identifying opportunities for cost savings
* Review spend categories and support supply chain optimisation initiatives
* Track and report procurement progress, risks, and priorities
* Work closely with construction supervisors and planners to anticipate procurement needs
Job Requirements:
* Experience as a buyer in the procurement supply chain sector
* Knowledge of high‑integrity material traceability, QA requirements, and regulated procurement processes
* Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and site quality systems
* Familiarity with digital procurement platforms or supplier performance systems
* Possession of a CCNSG (Client / Contractor National Safety Group) card
* Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
* Ability to work effectively within a team and with various stakeholders
