Band 3 Senior Finance Business Partner
Job Purpose

As a key member of ONR’s Finance Directorate, you will work closely with ONR’s budget holders to set, monitor and manage ONR’s budget. You will provide appropriate challenge to assumptions made to ensure robust in-year forecasting. As a Business Partner, you will develop meaningful management, providing valuable insight to support decision making.
About The Role:
Principal Responsibilities
1. To act as Finance Business Partner to internal and external customers, ensuring decisions are made based on accurate and up to date information
2. Production and development of month end management and financial information reporting packs to deadlines, showing information that is meaningful to inform business decision making. This includes writing insightful commentaries and the clear articulation of variances
3. Provide meaningful and insightful ad hoc management information to key stakeholders to inform decision making across the organisation
4. Maintain and develop robust financial models to support budgeting and forecasting processes
5. Maintenance of the Hyperion reporting system and Power BI reports to ensure management and financial information is reported in a timely and accurate fashion
6. Build working relationships with both internal stakeholders e.g. Finance and non-Finance managers and external stakeholders e.g. National Audit Office and Regulatory Authorities
7. Ability to articulate clearly and concisely financial and management information to stakeholders and support project business cases and key decision making across ONR
8. Ensure the continuous improvement of financial procedures and processes.
9. Work as part of a team to ensure that ONR’s month-end procedures are undertaken to produce our accounts.
10. Collate and provide evidence, with appropriate analysis, to NAO to support interim and year-end audits.
11. Provide financial information to support Board and SLT reports.

Location / Travel
This post may be undertaken from a base at any one of ONR’s office locations (Bootle, Cheltenham or London).

Essential Qualifications
16. Accountancy Qualification (CCAB) or working towards a CCAB Qualification
Skills/Job Related Expertise
17. Must have experience of using and developing financial and management reporting systems,
18. Excellent financial modelling skills
19. Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
20. Budgeting and management accounting experience
21. Excellent communication and organisation skills
22. Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and externally
23. Developed ability in analysing and interpreting complex financial information and ‘translating’ this into clear management information using a variety of presentation techniques.
