Job Title: Pharmacy Technician - Cancer Services

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
We are currently looking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician - Cancer Services to support the provision of pharmacy services within our Duchess of Devonshire Wing (DDW). This is a key role supporting safe, effective and efficient dispensing of oral chemotherapy and supportive medications for our cancer services, with responsibility for dispensary stock management and clinical trials support. You will also participate in quality improvement initiatives and play a key part in developing the service.

Key Duties
* Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently, referring issues outside own remit appropriately.
* Manage and dispense stock of oral chemotherapy and ready-to-administer systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT).
* Participate in Clinical Trials Pharmacy: handle, store, label and dispense Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) and maintain accurate trial documentation.
* Ensure good medicines management: stock rotation, storage, handling, and expiry date checks.
* Participate in quality improvement and stock usage review projects.
* Provide basic drug information and issue dispensed items to patients with appropriate advice.
* Work with the supervising pharmacist and Aseptic Services Management team to ensure smooth operation of the dispensary and clinical trials service.
* Train and supervise junior staff, including pharmacy assistants and trainees.
* Assist in procurement activities, ordering, and receiving stock and sundries.
* Provide dispensary support at the main site and participate in the Bank Holiday and Weekend rotas as required.
Skills And Experience
* GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences
* Experience in UK hospital pharmacy
* Experience in stock management, discrepancy investigations, and effective communication with stakeholders
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and pharmacy systems
* Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing work patterns
* Desirable: ACT accreditation, GCP training, experience with Meditech and Mosaiq, clinical trial knowledge
