We are currently recruiting
for an experienced Production Shift Manager to join Mitsubishi Chemical Group on a permanent basis at our Specialty Polymers and Resins site in Newton Aycliffe. This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining a manufacturing environment with a strong culture of communication, health and safety, coaching, training, and providing support and development opportunities to employees.
Working 24/7 shifts, you will manage one of our production teams and deliver day-to-day SHE, quality, production standards, and targets, focusing on continuous improvement to deliver world-class manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the shift team to deliver against targets, ensuring compliance with procedures.
2. Support team development and provide the team flexibility to achieve site requirements.
3. Manage day-to-day production, prepare and issue Work Control Permits, interact with the plant DCS and MES systems to optimise production, and resolve short- and medium-term plant problems.
4. Monitor and improve performance, developing and delivering sustainable production systems and processes, including operating procedures, conditions, technical training, and problem-solving guides.
5. Project managing improvements, including commissioning of modified and new equipment.
What Are We Looking For?
1. Excellent people skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
2. Experience of leading and motivating individuals and teams to achieve business goals.
3. A strong appreciation for SHE standards.
4. Strong technical, problem-solving, change management, and systems skills are essential.
5. An understanding and delivery of manufacturing improvements such as 5S, root cause analysis, etc.
6. Experience working with DCS and MES systems, ISO9001:2000, cGMP, and ISO13485.
7. A recognized management qualification or similar experience.
