A Metrology/ CMM Technician is sought a leading precision engineering & manufacturing business who have won significant new programmes with defence & aerospace customers CMM Programmer/ Quality Inspector Salary: £35-40000 benefits Location: Nuneaton This is an interesting and varied responsibility to work for a business that design and manufacture low volume and prototype high precision components and assemblies for a wide range of customers, so this role affords the opportunity to work on customer projects from concept and engineering design through to production. Duties: o Measure & inspect complex components & assemblies using CMM and Faro Arm metrology equipment o Programming of metrology equipment - CMM & Faro Arm o Undertake quality audits where necessary o Prepare inspection reports (FAIR & AS9100) for customer o Ensure metrology equipment is maintained and calibrated o Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve issues o Actively seek to improve processes, productivity and 5S Experience: Applications are sought from experienced Metrology Technicians or CMM Inspectors / Programmers with significant knowledge of measurement, production quality control and new product introduction within low volume precision engineering or manufacturing, ideally gained with defence, aerospace or similar sector. o Proven experience working as a Metrology or CMM Technician. Ideally within aerospace, defence or similar precision engineering business o Capable of operating and programming CMM from customer parts drawing. Experience using Autodesk PowerInspect of similar software o Operation of other metrology equipment – micrometers, gauges, laser/optical scanners o Experience compiling FAIR documentation and reports o Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 and MOD/ NATO standards ideally o Apprentice trained / engineering qualification (BTEC/ Degree) o Able to read engineering drawings with a high level of competency understanding GD&T/ tolerance stack ups for high tolerance components and assemblies The opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CMM Programmer or Metrology specialist to join a specialist division of a global manufacturing organisation who are both winning and quoting for significant new business, particularly with defence, aerospace and automotive manufacturers.
