Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a well-established M&E Contractor based in Warwick, recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance and Aftercare Manager to join their team.
This company works on multimillion-pound contracts in the West Midlands for top-tier Main Contractors. They are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance and Aftercare Manager to support the Major Projects team post-contract, manage and grow the Small Works and Maintenance division, and work alongside their existing Electrical Small Works Manager.
This is a relatively new role, where you will manage defect repairs following project completion, oversee current planned maintenance contracts, and promote and secure new contracts with clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Planning resources, including materials, labour, and sub-contractors.
* Creating maintenance schedules and organising labour accordingly.
* Managing mechanical defects to completion.
* Conducting site inspections and identifying maintenance needs, ensuring quality and compliance.
* Supervising maintenance staff and ensuring safety practices.
* Producing costs for additional or remedial works.
* Scheduling minor repairs and major repairs as instructed by clients.
* Discussing maintenance concerns with clients and communicating with maintenance staff.
* Developing maintenance budgets and discussing contracts with clients.
* Controlling inventory and coordinating specialist sub-contractor work.
* Raising purchase orders and invoices, logging defects, and maintaining administrative procedures.
* Growing the business area by acquiring new clients and maintaining relationships.
You will also manage some Small Works projects in conjunction with the electrical maintenance/SW department, involving site visits, scope assessment, costing, and project management if successful.
Experience/Requirements
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the construction mechanical industry, in installation or maintenance, with knowledge of quotations/estimating and reading drawings. A good customer focus, organisational skills, and staff management abilities are essential. Industry-recognised qualifications such as HVAC and an apprenticeship are required. Excellent communication skills, confidence, self-motivation, effective organisation, and a relevant CSCS card are also necessary.
Package
Salary: £45-50K depending on experience.
