Network TechnicianNottingham | £26,500 – £27,500 | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm | Office-based Are you early in your IT career and looking for a role where you can build real hands-on experience across support, networking, hardware and infrastructure? This is a great opportunity for an IT Support Technician, Service Desk Analyst or Junior Network Technician who wants more variety than a standard helpdesk role. You’ll be working directly with an experienced Network Supervisor, supporting users across the business and getting involved in everything from Microsoft 365 and Active Directory through to hardware repairs, networking, printers, phones, backups and site support. The business is looking for someone with the right attitude, communication skills and technical foundations. You do not need to know everything already. If you have around 1–2 years’ IT experience and are keen to learn, this could be an excellent next step.The RoleAs Network Technician, you’ll provide 1st and 2nd line support across the business, helping internal users with day-to-day IT queries and technical issues. Your responsibilities will include:
* Responding to IT support calls and user queries
* Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
* Supporting Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
* Setting up users, accounts and mailboxes
* Installing and configuring laptops, PCs, operating systems and applications
* Supporting printers, phones and general office IT equipment
* Helping with networking issues across LANs, switches and VLANs
* Supporting technologies such as Cisco, Meraki, Synology, 3CX, Veeam and VMware
* Liaising with internal teams, stores and external suppliers
* Occasionally travelling to other sites when hands-on support is required
What We’re LookingFor You’ll ideally have experience in a role such as IT Support Technician, Helpdesk Technician, Service Desk Analyst, Desktop Support Technician, Network Technician or Junior IT Support Engineer. You should have:
* Around 1–2 years’ experience in IT support, helpdesk, desktop support or a similar role
* Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office 365
* Some experience with Active Directory
* Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software
* A willingness to learn networking, infrastructure and wider systems support
* Good communication skills and a helpful, customer-focused approach
* A calm, can-do attitude when dealing with pressure or urgent issues
* A full UK driving licence
Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Synology, 3CX, Veeam, VMware or hardware repairs would be useful, but training can be provided.
