We are seeking a hands-on professional to support a high-performance OEM in resolving front-line production quality issues and ensuring supply continuity. This is a contract opportunity based on-site near Hams Hall, working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to stabilise supplier-related quality concerns and protect production operations.
This role requires full-time on-site presence (5 days per week) to support fast-paced production and supplier engagement activities.

Role Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will provide on-site and supplier-facing quality support, focusing on containment, fault identification, root cause validation, and corrective action closure. This role plays a critical part in maintaining engine and engine component supply by ensuring robust supplier response and resolution of non-conformances.
The role requires close collaboration with internal OEM teams and external suppliers to drive timely and effective quality improvements, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, assess, and manage supplier quality issues impacting engine and component supply
Lead and coordinate containment activities across supplier, internal, and customer environments
Review, challenge, and approve supplier 8D reports, ensuring robust root cause and corrective actions
Support and verify inspection activities, including interim inspection, sorting, and rework
Monitor supplier response effectiveness and escalate risks where necessary
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues
Maintain accurate quality documentation, issue trackers, and reporting for governance
Essential Experience:
Proven experience in an automotive quality or supplier quality engineering
Strong knowledge of engines and engine components (machined parts, assemblies, etc.) would be desirable
Hands-on experience managing non-conformances, containment, and supplier corrective action
Working knowledge of 8D methodology and root cause analysi
Experience verifying corrective action effectiveness in a production environment
Strong stakeholder communication skills with confidence to challenge suppliers
Understanding of automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949
Familiarity with APQP and PPAP processes
Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environments
Location & Availability:
The suitable candidate must be based within 45 minute commute of Hams Hall
This role requires full-time on-site presence (5 days per week)
