OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standards. Duties
Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before they escalateDiagnose faults using specialised tools and techniques, then perform necessary repairs or replacementsMaintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts utilisedPerform scheduled servicing tasks in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocolsAssist with installation of new equipment and upgrades as requiredEnsure all work areas comply with health and safety regulations, including the proper handling of hazardous materialsCollaborate with other team members to optimise maintenance schedules and minimise downtimeKeep tools, parts, and workspaces organised and maintained in a clean state
Skills
Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical maintenance roleStrong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical componentsAbility to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams effectivelyExcellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshootingGood organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficientlyAbility to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentRelevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering are desirable but not essentialA valid UK driving licence is preferred for roles involving on-site travel between locations
