Job Title: Teacher of Geography

Salary: £30,000 – £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for a passionate Teacher of Geography to join a vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Southampton. This is a full-time, permanent role beginning in September 2025, ideal for someone ready to bring the world to life in the classroom. In this role, you will guide students through the study of diverse cultures, environments, and global issues. You will foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world, making Geography an engaging and meaningful subject.
Whether you are QTS-qualified, an Early Career Teacher (ECT), overseas-trained, or an experienced Teaching Assistant (TA) /Cover Supervisor (CS) looking to transition into teaching – we welcome your application.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Encourage exploration and understanding of physical and human geography.
* Use creative teaching strategies to reach all learning styles and abilities.
* Support students in preparing for exams and achieving academic goals.
* Maintain high standards in behaviour, learning, and assessment.
* Contribute to the school’s community and the wider Humanities department.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it (ECTs welcome).
* Specialism or strong background in Geography.
* Experience in a secondary school environment (UK or international).
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
* A genuine passion for Geography and education.
* A CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps explained.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
