Are you a solicitor with 3+ years' PQE looking to grow your career in a leading Agriculture & Estates team? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded law firm with a strong regional presence and a top-tier reputation in rural and agricultural work.
The Role:
This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialist Agriculture & Estates team advising on a broad range of rural property and land matters. The successful candidate will handle high-quality, often complex work for a well-established client base of farmers, landowners, estates, and rural businesses.
You’ll be involved in advising clients on a variety matters including:
* Sales and acquisitions of agricultural land and estates, including options, overage provisions, and pre-emption agreements
* Agricultural tenancy arrangements and agreements
* Sporting and fishing rights management
* Banking and refinancing transactions involving rural property
* Residential conveyancing and tenancy advice tailored to farming families and estate owners
* Structuring of rural businesses, joint ventures, and collaborative arrangements
* Succession planning and rural diversification strategies
* Renewable energy initiatives and natural capital opportunities
* Guidance on agri-environment schemes and the Environmental Land Management Scheme (ELMS)
You’ll also work closely with private client and tax specialists advising on:
* Wills, trust planning, and probate
* Tax (including IHT, SDLT, CGT and VAT)
Key Responsibilities:
* Drafting, negotiating and managing documentation for property transactions and rural agreements
* Handling your own caseload and supporting senior colleagues on complex transactions
* Engaging directly with clients and other professional advisors
* Attending client meetings and business development events
What We're Looking For:
* A qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 3+ years’ PQE
* Genuine interest in agricultural law
* Strong grounding in either private client or property law, experience with rural/agricultural law not essential
* Excellent communication and client relationship skills
* Commercial awareness and interest in the wider rural and landowning sectors
* A proactive and collaborative approach to work
