Job Title: High Needs Teaching Assistant
Grade 4 £25,583 (Term Time Only: Salary to be pro‑rated)
30 hours per week, term time only (Monday – Friday 8.30am – 3.00pm)
Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs, both in class and in small group or individual sessions.
* Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans and interventions.
* Support pupils' social, emotional, and language development, fostering confidence and independence.
* Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
* Promote an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive classroom environment in line with the school's Catholic ethos.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to assessments and reviews as required.
* Support the wider life of the school community, including participation in liturgies, assemblies, and school events.
The Ideal Candidate
* Has experience of working with children with additional needs and/or EAL.
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
* Has high expectations of children's behaviour and attainment.
* Works effectively as part of a team and uses initiative when required.
* Is committed to upholding and promoting the Catholic values and mission of the school.
* Holds relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) – desirable but not essential.
