Quality Control Technician – Life Sciences (ELISA Kits) | Up to £30,000 | Berkshire
Are you looking to build your quality control experience in a growing life sciences company? We're hiring a Quality Control Technician to join a collaborative QC team supporting the global release of ELISA diagnostic kits for the veterinary industry. You'll play a key role in running assays, preparing reagents, and inspecting final product quality – all while developing your skills in a purpose-driven, scientific environment.
About the Role
As a QC Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our diagnostic kits meet strict quality standards before they’re released to customers worldwide. You’ll run a variety of QC assays, maintain equipment, manage lab consumables, and assist with data analysis under the guidance of senior colleagues. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with lab experience who’s methodical, motivated, and looking to grow in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Run QC assays and interpret results under supervision
Prepare reagents and test raw materials
Inspect final products and assembled kits for quality compliance
Manufacture and test internal controls
Calibrate lab equipment and maintain temperature logs
Manage consumables and ensure proper waste disposal
Keep the lab environment organised and safe
Support improvements in processes and documentation
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 6 months' experience in a laboratory environment
Understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and GMP principles
Ideally, a science-based degree (or equivalent experience)
Familiarity with ELISA testing and pipetting techniques
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
A team player who is also confident working independently
Good communication and time management skills
