Job Title: Inclusion Assistant
Responsible to: Inclusion Officer
Grade and Pay Range: Scale 3 (spinal points 5-6)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week x 44.86 weeks per year
Key Contacts: Internal – Staff/Pupils; External – Parents/Governors/External Agencies and Suppliers/Local Authority and Schools
Purpose of Job: The Inclusion Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the development and maintenance of an effective Inclusion Unit and Day 6 provision at our school. Working closely with the Inclusion Officer and Senior Leaders, the successful candidate will contribute to creating a positive learning environment and fostering positive relationships within the school community.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Maintain administrative systems for the Inclusion Unit and Day 6 provision, including photocopying, filing, and computerized records.
2.
Assist in maintaining attendance registers and specific information as directed (e.g., SEN and Ethnic Monitoring).
3.
Follow and implement school policies related to Inclusion.
4.
Assist in an effective booking system for pupils attending the Unit.
5.
Coordinate with subject teachers to ensure the receipt of work for students.
6.
Assist pupils with lessons, providing necessary resources and equipment.
7.
Escort pupils as required (toilet, lunch, and lessons).
8.
Maintain a daily log of events within the Unit.
9.
Assist with issuing and checking students' reports.
10.
Minute Inclusion meetings as required and distribute to Senior Leaders.

Day 6 provision:
1.
Be the second point of contact between partner schools for the Day 6 provision.
2.
Ensure all information is communicated to appropriate personnel (bookings, telephone messages).
3.
Assist in the management of all external bookings.
4.
Assist with administrative arrangements for pupils prior to their time within the Unit.
5.
Provide pupils with required information before their time in the Unit (e.g., behavior policy, rules, and expectations).
6.
Ensure staff are aware of all external pupils attending the Unit.
7.
Assist with necessary paperwork for a pupil's stay and departure from the Unit.
8.
Provide monitoring information as directed.

* Up-to-date Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
