Risk Manager - 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

As we continue to enjoy an exciting period of growth in the UK, we are looking for additional resources to support us with our project with Transport for London. The Risk Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the programme-wide Risk Management Framework for the Proteus project, covering both the Entry Phase and the Service Delivery Phase.
This role ensures all project, technical, operational, transition, and supplier-related risks are identified, assessed, monitored, and mitigated in a structured and auditable manner.
The Risk Manager will coordinate closely with the client counterparts, Indra workstream leads, the Former Supplier (during Entry Phase), and the wider governance team to ensure risks, especially those linked to transition and knowledge transfer, are proactively managed and transparently reported.
Key duties include:
* Responsible for managing Indra's risk management obligations as set out in the Contract.
* Develop and maintain the Project Risk Management Plan, Risk Register, ensuring all risks (cost, schedule, technical, legal) are captured, assessed, and prioritised.
* Conduct quantitative risk analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations) to evaluate potential impacts on project timelines and budgets.
* Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring alignment with client's risk management protocols and contractual requirements.
* Prepare monthly risk reports for senior management and client, highlighting trends, mitigation progress, and residual risks.
* Lead regular risk review workshops with workstream leads, management and the client.
* Ensure compliance with ISO 31000, and contractual risk management requirement.
* Monitor subcontractor risk performance, ensuring adherence to flow-down obligations.
* Support claims and dispute resolution by providing risk-based evidence.
* Act as the primary risk liaison for client' s Risk Manager and internal teams (commercial, contract, and technical)
* Train project staff on risk awareness tools and best practices.
Requirements
* Degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, IT or related discipline.
* Professional qualification or certification in risk management, such as:
* IRM Certificate or Diploma (Institute of Risk Management), or
* APM Project Risk Management Qualification (PRAMQ), or
* RMP: Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) certification, or
* MoR (Management of Risk) certification.
* Extensive experience managing risks on large, complex, preferably in rail, construction, or infrastructure projects.
