We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our client's team based in Redditch. The successful candidate will be part of the Strategic Procurement team, responsible for PPV, NWC Improvements, Supply Chains, and Inventory Targets.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and coordinate strategic cost reduction initiatives.
2. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve PPV and NWC targets.
3. Support the operations team in mitigating supply chain risks.
4. Assist operations in improving supplier KPIs (quality, delivery, cost).
5. Analyze procurement data to identify opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
1. Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Experience with OEM or automotive industry is advantageous.
3. Degree level education or equivalent preferred.
4. CIPS or equivalent supply chain qualification preferred.
5. Full UK Driving Licence.
Travel & Work Arrangements
Site-based role with occasional overseas travel (less than 25%).
Knowledge & Skills
* Understanding of manufacturing, quality control, and planning processes.
* Experience with mainframe and personal computer systems.
* Strong mathematical and communication skills.
* Knowledge of computerized information systems (manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement, distribution).
* Understanding of ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP.
* Flexible, decisive, and proactive problem-solving skills.
* Leadership qualities and experience with lean methodologies.
* Focus on achieving KPIs and business goals.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
* Customer service orientation and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
* Basic engineering knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings.
