Mawdsleys is looking to recruit a knowledgeable site engineer that has experience working with clean and wastewater pumps. Based from home with frequent visits to head office, you will work from and report on Smartsite on a mobile phone or tablet.

Mawdsleys Pump Services supplies, installs, maintains, and repairs a large range of pumps and pumping systems in many market sectors. For over 15 years we have been providing our reliable, high-quality pump services to commercial and domestic customers across the South West and beyond. Key Responsibilities of the Site Engineer

* The servicing, maintenance, commissioning and installation of pumps and pumping equipment in both clean water and wastewater environments, largely at sewage treatment plants and submersible pumping stations. This includes:
* Fault Investigation & Repair – Attending client sites when required to investigate faults with field-based equipment and repairing where possible.
* Installations & Modification Upgrades – Carrying out pump & related equipment replacements and installations when required.
* Tank cleaning and chlorination services as part of a team.
* Following site visits advise the build of materials and solutions needed for the accurate quoting of remedial repairs.
* Liaising with the M&E Services department and communicating effectively.


Types of Equipment You Will Work With as a Site Engineer

* Electrical motors / Inverters / rotating equipment / gear boxes / pipework installation and modifications in copper plastics and stainless steel. Submersible and surface mounted pumping equipment, circulators, cold water booster sets and pressurisation equipment. HVAC / Building Services.
* Availability to work outside of normal working hours for breakdowns and emergency call outs. Standard hours are 7.30-4.00pm with 30 minutes’ flexibility for travel to be on site or at head office between these times. Overtime rates are paid for being on site outside of these hours.
* On call rota – additional remuneration provided.


Qualifications

* Minimum 4 years in a similar role
* A full driving licence.
* Health & Safety Aware
* CSCS Certification, preferable but not essential.
* IPAF Certification, preferable but not essential.
* 18th edition Electrical Competency, preferable but not essential as training will be given to the right candidate after probation period.
* Confined space training is preferable, but training can be given.
* Electrical qualifications are desired but not essential – the candidate must be capable of being trained quickly.


Technical Skills

* The industry has extensive products that require the skills to analyse, diagnose and rectify control panel and electrical faults in conjunction with mechanical operations. It is therefore essential that the candidate demonstrates time served skills to enable them to move forward with additional training.
* Electrical bias required with knowledge of working with 3-phase and single phase with good mechanical expertise.
* Able to interpret engineering drawings, including those of control panel equipment.


Interpersonal Skills

* Can interact with customers confidently and provide an exceptional personal service.
* Able to work successfully on your own or part of a team where you will take either a team leader or supportive role depending on the project.
* With a substantial part of the role involving reporting your findings in writing on Smartsite it’s important that you have good writing skills.
