Position
Clinical Fellow Core in Paediatric Otolaryngology (ENT) at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Overview
The post is primarily clinical, available as soon as possible for a 12‑month period and based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Successful applicants will care for children undergoing secondary and tertiary ENT surgery, gain experience in elective and emergency management, assist in theatre sessions, and participate in audit and research. No on‑call duties are required.
Suitable Candidates
The role may suit an aspiring surgical trainee or a paediatric trainee (FY2/ST1 level) wishing to broaden their experience. The post does not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.
Requirements
* Full registration and a licence to practice with the General Medical Council at the time of application.
* Minimum 2 years of practising medicine.
* Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).
* Non‑UK applicants must possess an IELTS or OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence.
* Applications from applicants requiring skilled worker sponsorship are welcome; required criminal record certificates and other immigration documentation must be supplied.
Responsibilities
* Run approximately six clinic sessions per week (scope to increase with departmental agreement).
* Assist the wider team in reducing the backlog of children awaiting appointments and develop paediatric skills.
* Work alongside Paediatric ENT Consultants during clinic sessions, and attend sub‑specialty clinics.
* Attend the department’s medical audit, morbidity and mortality meetings, and the in‑house continuing medical education programme.
* Encouraged to complete a robust research project in Paediatric ENT, including publication in a peer‑review journal.
