JOB DESCRIPTION About the role Would you like to join our Commercial Services team as a Managing Agent Officer and help us to deliver an excellent service for our residents? This is a great opportunity for anyone who is a customer-focused team player. This is a full time, 35 hours per week, permanent role based at our Oldham, Bower House office. We are currently working to a hybrid style. The overall purpose of the role is to deliver an excellent leasehold management service and customer experience on housing developments which are partly or wholly owned and / or managed by third-party landlord and managing agents. What we are looking for We are looking for a confident communicator with an excellent standard of written and verbal skills, supported by a solid working knowledge of key legislation such as the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 (S18-30) and the Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002, as well as RICS and ARMA guidelines. You will be adept at interpreting and explaining complex leasehold structures, delivering consistently high levels of customer service, and managing a varied workload while meeting performance targets. Strong working knowledge of scrutinising service charge demands, accounts and formal notices from managing agents and addressing areas of concern or non-compliance will be a key part of this role. A strong commitment to health and safety compliance is essential, along with the ability to work proactively and professionally in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to demonstrate these essential skills: Excellent standard of oral and written communication. A working knowledge of relevant legislation (i.e. S18-30 Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002), RICS and ARMA guidelines, regulations and procedures. Ability to read, interpret, apply, and explain complex title (i.e. leasehold) structures and provisions. Experience of providing high levels of Customer Service and meeting a wide range of customers' expectations. Experience of managing a large and varied workload, meeting performance targets. Experience and responsibility of health and safety compliance. Highly self-motivated with the ability to plan and work effectively without high levels of supervision. Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours. Desirable skills: Experience of affordable housing tenures (i.e. Shared Ownership, Affordable Rent). Essential qualifications: Level 2 (GCSE Grades A C or equivalent) in Maths and English. Desirable qualifications: IRPM affiliation. RICS accreditation. CIH Level 3.
