Job Description
Catering Service Engineer
Responsibilities
* Maintain catering assets to a high operational standard, ensuring all equipment is serviced, safe, compliant with legislation, and used correctly.
* Monitor asset condition to support timely replacement planning and minimise downtime.
* Source cost‑effective spare parts and identify opportunities to introduce improved alternatives.
* Advise on misuse when equipment is not utilised properly.
* Stay informed about new or updated catering equipment through research and manufacturer training.
* Carry out installation and maintenance of relevant trades in domestic and commercial buildings.
* Perform general plumbing, electrical, gas and refrigeration duties, repair works and minor installations of all catering equipment.
* Work with line manager and provide advice and information relating to any technical matters.
* Be commercially aware and be responsible for ordering required materials from suppliers in an efficient manner, following the company's purchasing procedures.
* Supervise, direct and positively motivate junior staff and/or apprentices who may be appointed to assist and support the wider performance of this role.
Qualifications
* CCN1 (or COCDN1), COCN1 (or CODNCO1), CIGA1, CDGA1LL COMCAT 1‑5
* Level 3 Electrical Qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ)
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* Fault‑finding experience on control systems
* Understanding of safety regulations
* Knowledge of different maintenance techniques
* Excellent customer service
