We are looking for a self-employed experienced volunteer leader to help establish community
volunteering, undertaking a range of habitat and access management work in the community owned
Heavens Valley. The Heavens Valley CBS is a
start-up community ownership organisation, owning 102 acres on the doorstep of Stroud. The site
has extensive wildlife habitats, covering 30% of the site of limestone grassland, native
woodlands, spring-fed streams and mature hedgerows, with 70% improved pasture.
This is a part time short term contract (12 hour week for 3 months at £25/hr), with plans for
longer term employment.
This community facing role is about building a regular volunteer base carrying out practical
habitat management work, management for nature recovery, maintenance and improvements to site
access and accessibility. It involves significant hands-on outdoor physical work. You will
organise and lead a weekly practical volunteer work party and set up systems for organising
volunteers.
If you have land management volunteer leadership experience and the enthusiasm to help us build
community volunteering, we'd love to hear from you.
Closing date for applications 26/09/25 with interviews w/c 6 October.
