Overview
We're looking for a Technology Engineer to join our National Highways Area 3 team based in Dummer. As a Technology Engineer, you'll be working within the technology installation team, supporting them in delivering high-quality installation and commissioning of highways technology equipment. Your day-to-day will include:
Responsibilities
* Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance on highways technology equipment including signs, signals, CCTV, and traffic monitoring systems
* Performing electronic diagnostic checks to identify and resolve faults in highways communication assets
* Supporting specific projects by interpreting requirements, applying appropriate methodologies, and developing effective solutions
* Liaising with third‑party suppliers and stakeholders to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth project delivery
* Preparing technical reports, drawings, and specifications whilst ensuring all health and safety requirements are met
Qualifications
* You have experience in highways technology or similar fields
* Knowledge and application of current technologies, standards and best practice relating to National Highways Motorway and trunk road communications systems
* Understanding of National Highways technology systems including display equipment, CCTV, digital storage devices and motorway communications
* Desire to work collaboratively to find the root cause of issues and deliver a proactive maintenance approach
* You hold a full UK driving licence, as site visits will be required across the network
