🚢 Edge Software Engineer | Maritime Autonomy | London (Hybrid)
Salary: Base ÂŁ70-95k + Benefits
We are using and creating technology to transform operations at sea — and we're looking for a talented Edge Software Engineer to help us do it.
This is not your average software engineering role. You'll be designing, building and maintaining backend containers that directly support the remote control of marine assets at sea — working at the intersection of edge computing, managed cloud environments and autonomous maritime operations.

What you'll be doing:
* Designing, building and maintaining backend containers for scalable edge computing and managed cloud environments
* Developing products using C++, .NET C# and Python
* Designing, implementing and prototyping services for technically complex systems and solutions
* Working with microservice architecture, Docker and Kubernetes
* Building on event-driven architecture and event-streaming services
* Working with distributed systems and networks in IoT and Industry 4.0 environments
* Applying industrial communication protocols including Modbus, Profibus and OPC
* Following and improving development and quality best practices
What we're looking for:
* 4+ years+ of software engineering experience in C++
* Experience with communication protocols — TCP/IP, UDP, REST
* Hands-on with event-driven architecture or event-streaming services
* Experience with microservice development, Docker or Kubernetes
* Background in distributed systems and networks — IoT or Industry 4.0
* Industrial communication protocol experience — Modbus, Profibus, OPC
* Fluent English — spoken and written
* Strong understanding of quality management, standards and applicable policies
