WHAT'S THIS ROLE ALL ABOUT?
As our Head of Films, you'll lead the team that creates video magic for our clients. We have an 8 person team of videographers, photographers, editors, animators, content creators and producers who create end-to-end video productions for clients like On, Frasers Group, Sky, L'Oreal, Kraft Heinz, Worldpay, McCain, Comcast and loads more. The team is bolstered by the creative brains of our researchers, strategists and designers, and kept on track by our brilliant project managers and account directors.
They're a talented bunch, and need a leader who adequately inspires them, levels up their creative thinking, and who keeps them motivated when energy runs low on a two week shoot.
Films are a massive part of the Wiser identity, so this role will be central to our creative offering. We have big growth plans (in team size, revenue and creative ideas) and we're excited to find the person who'll help us get there.
WHAT WILL YOU SPEND YOUR TIME DOING?
* You'll have an oversight of every project in the Films pipeline. From social-first content for our retainer clients, to the big bang hero video we're shooting with Comcast in Philadelphia - you know the craic
* You'll work with our Creative Operations team on resourcing and forecasting - making decisions on who works on what, how much time we should invest in each project, which team members attend a shoot
* You'll be responsible for our Films sales pipeline and will work to an annual target. You'll work with our Account Directors to pitch and sell films to clients. No cold hard BD, but lots of warm leads that want to be inspired
* You'll be responsible for the creative output of the team - constantly leveling up our creative ideation, production quality and post-production polish. You'll own quality control, making sure that no work is seen by clients without it getting your eagle eyes first
* You'll work with our other brilliant Heads of teams to deliver end-to-end award-winning work
* You'll run the team's weekly rhythm - daily team standup so everyone knows what they're working on that day, weekly 1:1s with each person on the team to keep them accountable, and regular team brainstorms and creative sessions to keep everyone inspired and motivated
* You'll also be responsible for the development and growth of the people on the team, supporting them to achieve their goals and be the best they can be
* You'll be based in our Wiser HQ office in Farringdon Monday to Thursday. Friday is a WFH day at Wiser, but when there's a shoot you'll likely need to be there. We're an in person team so remote or hybrid applicants won't make the cut
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
* 10+ years of agency-based Films experience
* Producer or videographer - as long as you have technical knowledge of the end to end films process, we're open to your discipline
* In-depth understanding of our kit
* Experience managing a team of filmmakers
* A love for all things film, from hero videos, through to campaign assets, through to always-on social content, you'll always have a drive to create best-in-class work regardless of output
* Flexibility to get out on shoots regularly - our team fly all around the world shooting for our global clients, with regular trips to the US, UAE and all over Europe. The Head of Films isn't needed on every shoot, but definitely should be up for it when needed. If you love travel and seeing the world, this is a big perk. If you're a home bird with a strict routine, not so much
* Experience in a high volume production role. Sometimes we get 8 weeks to produce a hero campaign. Other times we get 8 hours to bring together an edit. You need to be comfortable with both
