The individual need to be patient, helpful and care about making a positive difference.\n \n The school offers a range of great facilities and extra-curricular activities.
There is a welcoming team of staff and professionals who ensure to provide a great experience for both staff and students.\n \n The role as a SEN Teaching Assistant will heavily involve working alongside a couple of students who have additional needs and ensuring all their work is up to date. You will aid them during lessons to make sure that they understand everything and implement techniques that can help improve their knowledge and learning. You will also have to liaise with the school’s SENCO, reporting the children’s progress and any cause for concern.
You may also have to help any other students in the class who are having trouble with work.\n\nResponsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant Role:\n\nImplement strategies to support students with diverse special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs to help them reach their maximum potential.\nCooperating with teachers and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants to foster an inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.\nUtilising various methods to encourage positive behaviour and active participation in learning activities.\nContribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment by assisting with behaviour management and fostering a sense of belonging among students.\nOffer personalised one-on-one assistance to students with special needs.Top of Form\nRequirements for SEN Teaching Assistant role:\n\nExperience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.\nKnowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals.\nA patient and nurturing approach to working with children.\nAbility to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.\n\nCommitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies. \nTo work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should: \n\nHave the right to work in the UK. \n\nHave an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. \n\nHave a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education \n \n Here at GSL Education, we offer competitive pay rates, bespoke service and dedicated Consultants who will support you in securing your new role.
