Rotadrill UK LTD are looking for experienced Rotary Lead Drillers to join our operations team, delivering work to our clients nationwide across the UK.
Rotadrill UK LTD specialise in site investigation (onshore and nearshore), water wells and geothermal drilling.
We now have an opportunity for a Lead Driller to join our team in Wingate, North-East England to deliver geotechnical services nationwide.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a lead driller and suitable work references. The role will involve taking core samples using a variety of different drilling methods and techniques, open holing, geobore-S wire line coring, water/air flush drilling methods, installation of water wells and geothermal loops. The ideal candidate will have experience with sonic drilling but this isn't essential. Training for this can be provided at a later date.
The ideal candidate must have as a minimum:
-NVQ Level 2 (Lead Driller)
-CSCS card
-Full UK Driving license
-Driving card
-(B+E towing licence)
-7.5 tonne driving licence, Bandvagn 206 or Marooka licence would be beneficial but isn't essential.
A company vehicle to commute to and from site will be provided.
Rotadrill offer competitive rates of pay, single room occupancy either in hotels or Air B&B accommodation. We let our workers choose accommodation from anything up £95 per night or decide if they want to travel home (within up to 2 hours drive from site to yard). A nightly working away allowance of £25 per night is paid for each night worked away from home. Nightly rates can occasionally change if for example working within the M25 postcode.
Weekend work will be expected sometimes. We pay 1.5x on a Saturday, 2x on a Sunday and 2x on bank holidays.
The successful candidate must:
Be competent at operating Massenza drill rigs (Bluetooth remote MI3's, MI5 value bank) and at times, a Premier mini rig widow sampler or Fraste rigs.
Be competent in the use of geobore-s wire line coring. Competent in the use of conventional coring systems (PWF, SWF, T6-116, T2-101, T6H, 412)
Be competent in the use of using overburden systems such as Symmetrix from 5-8" diameter and other casing.
Be competent in using DTH hammers.
Be able to undertake SPT/CPT, dynamic sampling and other insitu testing.
Be able to install monitoring standpipes, inclinometers and water well PVC pipe.
Keep a diary of detailed records of daily activities.
Keep a daily record of rig and plant check sheets. Report and liaise with our in house fitter if any problems with vehicles/plant/trailers etc.
Have good communication with directors/managment every day.
Good attitude and a positive work ethic.
Liaise with clients and pass important messages onto management when required.
Work safely at all times in a busy, fast paced working environments.
Be able to problem solve and at times make important decisions.
Look after company plant/vehicles and to ensure equipment isn't miss used.
Candidate must live in the UK and ideally based in the North-East of England.
