We support our team members to reach their full potential in an inclusive environment that values diversity.The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Cell Technician – SAP PM & Corrugator to join our Engineering team at Yate.You will play a key role in maintaining and improving corrugator performance, leading SAP PM activity, and driving planned preventative maintenance to achieve high standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability.The role is primarily days-based (07:00–15:00, 8-hour shifts), with a requirement to work some weekdays and scheduled weekend shifts to support training, projects, and site operations.What You'll Be DoingAs a Mechanical Cell Technician, you'll be responsible for:Leading mechanical maintenance activities on the corrugator and acting as SAP PM leadPlanning and delivering preventative and planned maintenance, analysing breakdowns and reducing downtimeEnsuring all work is completed safely and in line with site and legislative standardsMaintaining accurate SAP PM records and proactively planning engineering work up to 6 weeks aheadOptimising machine performance through mechanical settings, performance mapping, and continuous improvement initiativesSupporting spare parts management, contractor coordination, and engineering budgetsProducing Excel-based reports to support engineering and management reviewsPromoting strong communication and teamwork across Engineering and ProductionCarrying out mechanical repairs, condition monitoring, and the safe use of workshop equipment to support site reliabilityWho We're Looking ForThis role is suited to an experienced mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and driving improvements in reliability and performance.Qualities and skillsStrong mechanical maintenance background within a continuous manufacturing environmentAdvanced working knowledge of SAP PM (SAP MM desirable)Highly competent in Excel, including formulas and data analysisGood understanding of electro-mechanical equipment and mechanical drawingsStrong awareness of health & safety and safe working practicesAble to plan, prioritise, and work proactively with minimal supervisionClear communicator who works well with engineers, operators, and managerExperience in corrugated, print, or packaging manufacturingKnowledge of TPM / Lean continuous improvement principlesExperience with condition monitoring techniques (e.g. predictive or preventative maintenance)QualificationsCompleted mechanical engineering apprenticeshipNVQ Level 3 / ONC / HND (or equivalent) in a mechanical disciplineWhat We OfferCompetitive salary & benefits, including annual leave, pension, and a Cycle to Work schemeOngoing training and development opportunities24/7 confidential support for you and your familyFlexible working options and family-friendly policiesGuaranteed interview for candidates meeting essential criteria (Disability Confident Employer)Ready to make an impact?
