Role P urpose : Working within the Customer & Data Team at B&Q, t he Data Visualisation & Automation Manager will be responsible for delivering high quality self-serve dashboards and foundational data enablement products. They will interact with a varied group of stakeholders to drive up the understanding of customers across the organisation, he lping to shape our future strategies, improve customer experience, deepen engagement, drive revenue, and improve business efficiencies across both B&Q and TradePoint. Develop and manage self-serve dashboards to bring the business closer to customers and support strategy and decision-making. Lead automation and workflow integration using cloud tools (e.g. Databricks, Airflow) and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate). Contribute to defining data flow architecture that delivers quick, tangible results and aligns with group standards. Empower store colleagues with the data they need to enhance customer experiences, ensuring safe, GDPR-compliant data access. Own roadmaps, prioritisation frameworks, and planning to balance short-term wins with long-term goals. Lead and develop a team of analysts through coaching and training, fostering a culture of learning, experimentation, and collaboration. Actively engage with the wider group data community and collaborate across banners. Build strong stakeholder relationships and translate business goals into analytical challenges. Bring external insights by staying informed on analytics trends in retail and other sectors, including competitor developments. Experienced in leading teams in agile environments, with strong prioritisation and stakeholder engagement. Proven expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) for scalable dashboards, apps, and workflows. Strong grasp of data visualisation and BI best practices, with a focus on simplicity and storytelling. Advanced SQL skills; experience with Python or R is a plus. Familiarity with cloud analytics platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery. Experience embedding automation and workflow tools (e.g. Airflow, Databricks) into operations. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive analytics adoption across large organisations. Solid understanding of data governance, quality, and CI/CD practices, including GitHub version control. Experience using Jira/Confluence (or similar) for backlog and documentation. Commercial mindset with a track record of linking analysis to customer, revenue, or cost outcomes. Strong storytelling skills to translate data into visuals and narratives that drive decisions.
