Pay: £13.75 per hour / £89.38 per day

Job Description:
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Autism and Special Educational Needs? We are actively recruiting an experienced and compassionate Autism Support Officer to work in a specialist school in Bridgend (CF32). The school caters to students aged 7 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and other Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
This rewarding position offers flexible working hours, making it suitable for both full-time and part-time candidates. The ideal applicant must be reliable, as consistency and structure are essential for pupils’ well-being and development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils in engaging with learning activities throughout the school day.
* Assist with personal care tasks when required.
* Implement strategies to manage and support challenging behaviour.
* Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a supportive learning environment.
* Participate in relevant training and professional development.
Essential Requirements:
* Experience supporting individuals with Autism or SEN (personal or professional).
* A positive attitude, with the ability to build rapport with both pupils and staff.
* Current Enhanced DBS on the update service.
* Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
* Commitment to safeguarding and supporting children’s development.
Desirable Qualifications & Training:
* Manual handling
* First Aid certification
* Team Teach or equivalent de-escalation training
