Barts Health NHS Trust is offering an exceptional Senior Neurotrauma Fellowship within its world‑leading Neurotrauma team – the first supra‑specialist consultant‑delivered neurotrauma service in the UK. Based at The Royal London Hospital, a major trauma centre in Europe, the post offers unparalleled experience in the neurosurgical management of traumatic brain injury and related conditions.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical care for approximately 250 complex head injury patients each year as part of a high‑performing multidisciplinary team.
* Work closely with four dedicated Neurotrauma Consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialists and other allied services (ED, ITU, Neuroradiology, Maxillofacial Surgery, ENT, Rehabilitation).
* Co‑ordinate weekly Head Injury MDT meetings and support CNS‑led virtual follow‑up clinics.
* Contribute to MDT head injury clinics and take a leadership role in clinical governance and service development.
* Support and undertake clinical research in traumatic brain injury.
* Participate in a 1‑in‑4 weekly consultant rota and complete all agreed clinical duties.
Training & Development
* Train in complex craniofacial reconstruction, open and endoscopic skull base repair, and management of post‑traumatic hydrocephalus.
* Perform a full range of emergency neurosurgical operations for traumatic brain injury.
