Equans UK is seeking a Head of Operations for our expanding EV Charge Point Solutions business. This role involves developing key strategies and processes for the deployment of EV chargers across various markets, ensuring SHEQ and financial controls are in place, and managing teams, suppliers, and stock effectively.
Key activities include:
1. Defining resource requirements for high-volume deployment projects and managing contracts.
2. Co-managing HSE, quality, and delivery performance with project managers, working closely with CPS departments.
3. Leading commercial changes within projects, supporting sales with bids and proposals, and managing supply chain and contracting strategies.
4. Negotiating contracts with installation and O&M contractors and suppliers, including hardware and metering services.
5. Understanding contractor business models to manage costs and ensure delivery, designing innovative commercial models to drive value, safety, quality, and market adaptability.
6. Establishing governance processes to monitor contractor performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
7. Building strong relationships with key contractors, suppliers, and strategic partners.
8. Reviewing internal project management processes to keep programs on track.
9. Managing contractual variations and fostering a culture of effective EVCP deployment contract management.
10. Ensuring effective procurement from subcontractors and vendors.
11. Promoting a positive health and safety culture and continuous HSE performance improvement among contractors.
12. Creating and maintaining a comprehensive deployment tracker covering all elements, including financials.
13. Providing weekly deployment summaries.
14. Ensuring electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition, City & Guilds, or similar, and understanding utility connections, CDM principles, civils, street works, and DNO processes.
15. Possessing a full UK driving license and experience in the design and installation of electric vehicle charging equipment.
