Job Description History Academic Mentor – Enfield – September 2025 Start This well-regarded secondary school in Enfield, graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted, is known for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral care, and focus on academic success. History Academic Mentor – What the School Offers High-quality CPD and weekly training for support staff A clear induction and mentoring process for all new joiners Behaviour systems that support positive relationships and consistent expectations A collaborative Humanities department that values input from Academic Mentors Opportunities to transition into teacher training for high-performing graduates History Academic Mentor – What the Role Involves Providing targeted academic support in History lessons Leading small-group and one-to-one History interventions across KS3 and KS4 Supporting pupils in developing analytical and essay-writing skills Assisting with progress tracking, assessment and pupil feedback Working closely with class teachers to tailor support to individual student needs History Academic Mentor – What the School is Looking For The ideal candidate will be a History graduate with a 2:1 or First-Class degree from a top 30 UK university. Experience working with young people in any setting is valuable, particularly in a tutoring, classroom, or mentoring capacity. You’ll need to bring energy, clarity in communication, and a genuine desire to help pupils thrive in History. A proactive, reflective attitude and willingness to learn from experienced colleagues will go a long way.
