Role Overview
The Electro-Mechanical Technician plays a key role in the assembly and integration of complex x-ray machines –e.g. mechanical fitting, cabling and integration of PCBs, servers, cooling systems, HV power supplies, etc.
Role Responsibilities
1. Building of Real Time Topology machines from engineering drawings, diagrams and std work instructions
2. Undertake repair and rework of mechanical assemblies
3. Be able to interpret Electrical Wire schematics and undertake fault finding and rectification
4. Responsible for quality of build in all areas including documentation, including self-checking and buddy checks
5. Maintain throughput targets
6. Assist in other areas of manufacturing as required
7. Ensure familiarity with stores and stock control and assist when directed
8. Support the development of Lean principles within the work area, suggest improvements
9. Undertake prototype assembly and assist with Manufacturing Engineering on Project work
10. Strict adherence to Safe work practices
11. Support the improvement of the facility, including implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, BPD and Continuous Improvements
12. Comply with all Health and safety policies
Candidate Requirements
1. Experience of assembling complex electro-mechanical products
2. Ability to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision
3. Adaptability combined with good communication skills
4. Ability to work on own initiative following company procedures
5. Ability to perform basic testing and problem solving
6. Ability to work accurately to procedures to produce work of consistent high quality
7. Able to integrate well into an established team supporting and assisting colleagues when required
8. GCSE level maths and English
9. Good mechanical and workshop skills
10. A good general technical and electro-mechanical mind-set –e.g. understanding of electrical and mechanical documentation, drawings and specifications
11. Understanding of electrical and mechanical safety standards
12. Experience of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, BPD and Continuous Improvement
13. Day shift Monday -Thursday 08:00-16:00 Friday 08:00-15:30
