Senior Service Designer - Inside IR35 Contract
We are looking to recruit a Senior Service Designer on a contract basis who can work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, and deliver excellent results across GDS projects for Version 1’s customers in the public sector.
Responsibilities
* Design the end-to-end journey of a service to help users complete their goals and enable the customer to deliver policy intent, including the creation or change of transactions, products and content across digital and offline channels.
* Work with users and stakeholders to determine the best way to design products and services, considering end-to-end journeys and individual design elements.
* Communicate design decisions effectively and demonstrate how designs meet user needs and relevant design standards.
Qualifications
* Design thinking and evidence-based design: strong understanding of design thinking and applying frameworks appropriately; test assumptions to ensure simple, feasible user solutions.
* Concepts and prototyping: create and iterate prototypes with appropriate fidelity and tools; evaluate concepts and prototypes and explain them to stakeholders and team members; select and apply suitable design patterns.
* Experience of accessible/inclusive design: apply key principles and evaluate designs against accessibility standards.
* Knowledge and experience of design standards: understand and demonstrate how designs comply with sector standards and UK public sector/GDS processes.
* Focus on users and their needs: undertake basic user research as appropriate and collaborate with researchers to test usability and accessibility.
* Consultancy skills: communicate design process and decisions effectively to gain stakeholder confidence; manage stakeholders and escalate issues when needed.
* Agile working in multidisciplinary teams: align work to agile workflows and collaborate openly and iteratively.
