NSB Recruitment is partnering with a respected, independent environmental consultancy to appoint an experienced Ecologist with strong bat expertise. You will take a lead role in delivering bat-focused surveys, assessments and mitigation, while contributing to a diverse portfolio of terrestrial ecology projects across development, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. The Role
* You will enjoy a varied and autonomous position where you will:
* Lead and deliver bat surveys, assessments and mitigation strategies
* Provide expert technical advice on bat licensing, habitat enhancement and mitigation design
* Coordinate and oversee field programmes, data analysis and reporting
* Produce high-quality technical reports and ecology chapters for planning submissions
* Support a range of wider ecology work, including protected species and habitat assessments
* Build positive relationships with clients, stakeholders and regulators
* Mentor junior team members and support their professional development
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and to a high technical standard
About You
* Experienced Ecologist with strong bat ecology expertise (licence holder or working towards)
* Sound understanding of UK wildlife legislation, policy and guidance
* Proven experience delivering and managing ecology projects
* Strong technical report writing and data interpretation skills
* Confident communicator, capable of building trust with clients and regulators
* Positive, organised and collaborative, with a passion for high-quality ecological outcomes
* CIEEM membership (or working towards) is desirable
